Do you have a vocation, a line of work that you are passionate about?
Is there a difference between vocation vs profession? I think of a vocation as a calling to do something where you can use your natural abilities and put them in the service of others. We usually feel a sense of fulfillment when we follow this call and are able to use our unique talents in our profession.
In Family Constellations we observe that there are certain universal laws called Orders of Love that, even though unconscious, are operating in families and other groups. Respecting these laws allows us to take in our ancestral love and strength that allows us to be fully present for life as it is.
One of these orders related to professional success is that when we are able to take into our hearts our parents and everything that they gave us, starting with the gift of life, we fill ourselves up and carry that forward into our profession.
When we heal our bond with our parents, we feel a natural desire to give back, which is the beginning of success in our profession. The more we have taken from our parents, the more we have to give back to life.
If there are emotional charges when you think of your parents, chances are that you bring those unsettled feelings with you and project them onto employers, or therapists or even partners. When we are at peace with our parents and thankful for what they did for us, we bring those feelings to work as well.
Shifting our perception and inner attitude towards our parents is a deeply healing journey that has far reaching consequences in our life. This is a basic movement in Family Constellations, where you are able to see them and yourself through a different perspective, through the healing eyes of the soul.
